Scottish Books

The Old Town Bookshop regularly stocks early Burns editions and slim leatherbound editions of Stevenson as well as entire collections of Sir Walter Scott's 'Waverley Novels' or the entire collected works of Robert Louis Stevenson. We have more obscure material by and on writers such as Hugh MacDiarmid, Neil Gunn, James Hogg, Jessie M. King and Mrs. Oliphant. In addition we have a good selection of wide-ranging Scottish interest from flora and fauna, geology and botany; with works by Hugh Miller, MacGillivray and John Duncan, for example, alongside works by Adam Smith, John Knox and Andrew Lang. We keep copies of the 'Domestic Annals of Scotland' and the 'Edinburgh Almanac' and have had rare editions of Scottish material ranging from Jacobite balladry to kirkyard history. We also stock Scottish art and architecture with monographs on artists and architects such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Barbara Rae, Joan Eardley and John Bellany.
